Fri, 9 February 2007 ![]() When Ronald Reagan became president, America was seen as weak by the rest of the world. As a result, there were some rogue nations who thought America would not respond to to attacks, such as kidnappings of our citizens or the outright murder of our civilians and military by bombings. President Reagan had a different approach - he knew we could not achieve peace through negotiations with these terrorist countries, and instead, needed to achieve peace through strength. www.iHistoryRadio.com or subscribe at http://booktalkradio.libsyn.com/rss

Thu, 18 January 2007 ![]() This week on iHistory Radio, we bring you an old radio broadcast in the years shortly after WWII. Broadcast for kiddies by the Civil Defense Administration - this is a real public service program to help children learn to "duck and cover" in the event of an atom bomb in the 1940s. While a tad creepy, this short program-- a mix of kiddie characters and life or death subject matter -- shows us how serious the threat of an atom bomb was believed to have been.
